Biography

With over 12 years of experience advocating for tribes in the Nation's Capital, Joseph Pitre has held key roles in the U.S. House of Representatives, U.S. Senate, and with the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI).

Transitioning to the private sector, Joseph now represents tribes nationwide, guiding them through Capitol Hill and the Administration to address their legislative and policy needs.

During his tenure on Capitol Hill, Joseph served on the House Committee on Natural Resources and the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, focusing on issues critical to Indian affairs. His expertise spans tribal land and water settlements, treaty fishing rights, federal funding, climate change, federal recognition, and sacred site protection.

Joseph proudly belongs to the United Houma Nation of Louisiana.
